Social media has made its way into everything so it is no surprising that it is used even in business. Many of job recruiters, recruitment coaches, head hunters and personnel HR are using LinkedIn more and more in recent times, mostly as a source for finding potential candidates. Advanced search tool offers recruiters to find members that match their specific key words. Making contact with potential job candidates can be done by sending a request to connect or by sending InMail about specific job opportunity recruiter can offer. Usually, recruitment coach will join industry-based groups on LinkedIn to create more connections with professionals in that field of business or industry.

Series of lists called LinkedIn Top Companies was published by LinkedIn itself and it identifies companies in the Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, the United Kingdom and the United States that attract the most intense interest from job candidates. These lists of the Top Companies were first published in 2016 and since then are published annually. The lists are based on more that a billion actions by LinkedIn members worldwide.
